The Hampta Pass Trek is one of the most popular high-altitude treks in Himachal Pradesh. Starting from the Manali region
Today's trail takes you deeper into the high mountains. You walk beside the Rani River through beautiful alpine meadows and rocky terrain. As you gain altitude, trees gradually disappear and the landscape becomes more rugged. During the trekking season, you may encounter patches of snow, colourful mountain flowers and small streams.

This is the most exciting and challenging day of the trek. You start early from Balu Ka Ghera and gradually climb towards Hampta Pass. The trail becomes steeper as you approach the pass. After reaching the top, you are rewarded with spectacular views of the surrounding Himalayan mountains.
After breakfast, begin your descent towards Chhatru. The landscape is completely different from the Manali side. You will see barren mountains, huge rocky formations and the dramatic landscape of Lahaul. Some sections consist of loose rocks and glacial streams, so proper trekking shoes are important.
The final day combines a scenic mountain drive with a visit to the famous Chandratal Lake, subject to road and weather conditions. Chandratal, also known as the Moon Lake, is surrounded by dramatic Himalayan peaks and is one of the most beautiful attractions in the Lahaul-Spiti region. After visiting Chandratal, continue your journey towards Manali.
